Types of Classes at Wellness Haven
Yoga is a way of life, of the highest kind. It is a profound integrative practice with healing benefits. At Wellness Haven we offer classes suitable for everyone, whether you have any prior yoga experience or not. We are especially focused on yoga for women, even though everyone is welcome in our classes, and including men and independent children.
When yoga asanas are combined with our Breathing & Meditation Program, as well as our 12 week nutrition program, it becomes a perfect combination for healthy living.

Group Yoga for those recommended by their doctors & recovering from injuries and surgeries or heavily challenged / Introductory Chair Yoga
Who is this for:
– This is Introduction to Chair Yoga Class
– Those who are heavily challenged – unable to sit at floor level, or need help sitting due to excess weight, are unable to cross or lift legs.
– Those recovering from injuries and surgeries and have been recommended by their doctors
– Those who have completed their regime with physical therapist and yet need help.
What to expect in this class:
This is an hour devoted to healing and gentle stretching through yoga in a group environment and work on body parts in a slow and steady manner listening in to the needs of each individual. Only sitting on chair and standing against the wall are required. No mat yoga on floor is done.
Chair Yoga + Mat Yoga
If you are unable to bend your knees or unable to sit on the mat without support of wall behind your back or have back pain, we recommend that you start with Gentle Chair Yoga.

Who is this for:
- Stretching, Strengthening, and Balancing Exercises on Chair, against the Wall, and on the Mat for Everyone. All ages are welcome. No experience required.
What to expect in this class:
- Starts with a Breathing exercise on a chair
- Followed by a full body workout on cushioned chair, and including dumbbells
- Followed by stretching, strengthening and balancing exercises against a wall in standing, sitting and lying down positions
- Followed by stretching, strengthening and balancing exercises in lying down positions (supine and prone) on the mat with soft bolsters, neck pillows and cushions to support the natural body arches
- Followed by blissful shavasana, peaceful chanting, laughter yoga.
- Your stiff limbs will be released. You will wonder why you did not do this class before!
Mat Yoga for Beginners
If you do not have any injuries, you are able to bend your knees and use your wrists, if you are able to sit on the yoga mat without the support of a chair or wall, then we recommend that you start with Easy Yoga.
Who is this for:
Easy Stretching, Strengthening, and Balancing Exercises on the mat, and against the wall for everyone. All ages are welcome. No experience required.
What to expect in this class:
Starts with a Breathing exercise on the mat
Followed by easy stretching, strengthening and balancing exercises on the mat with soft bolsters, neck pillows and cushions to support the natural body arches, balancing poses at the wall.
Followed by blissful shavasana, peaceful chanting, laughter yoga.
Your stiff limbs will be released. You will wonder why you did not do this class before!
The difference between Gentle and Easy Yoga is the use of chair in Gentle Yoga and without chair in Easy Yoga and is for students transitioning from Gentle yoga to yoga asanas on the mat without back support of chair.
Mat Yoga for Intermediate to Advanced
Who is this for:
- Some experience with yoga is recommended
What to expect in this class:
- Starts with a Breathing exercise
- Followed by asanas that are conducted in a slow paced static as well as sequential flow with stretching, strengthening and balancing exercises on the mat, and against the wall.
- Followed by blissful shavasana, peaceful chanting, laughter yoga
Very Slow Mat Yoga with long pose holding for ALL
Who is this for:
- Some experience with mat yoga is recommended Each class takes into account the level of the students attending the class.
What to expect in this class:
- Starts with Breathing exercise
- Followed by asanas that are held for 1-2 minutes at a time to enable release of tight muscles and joints
- Followed by blissful shavasana, peaceful chanting, laughter yoga
Bliss Yoga (held on demand)
If you like Restorative Yoga & Guided Meditation while lying down with support of cushions, then we recommend this class for you.
Who is this for:
- Restorative Yoga & Guided Meditation for Everyone. All ages are welcome. No experience required.
What to expect in this class:
- Starts with you lying on your back and deep breathing
- Followed by stretches on the back, sides and belly
- Followed by complete relaxation with props like cushion, block, sand bag and blanket, to make you comfortable as you are taken into guided meditation.
- Followed by self meditation/blissful shavasana, peaceful chanting
- Your tiredness, fatigue, headaches will simply disappear. Relaxation will seep into every pore of your being. Treat yourself to this class and you will be re-charged.
Exclusive Kids Yoga
Throughout the year, kids attend classes with their parents in any of our classes.
We offer Exclusive Kids Yoga for Independent Children 7 and Up
with pre-signup when scheduled.
In these classes, we build them up with a step by step Yoga Asana Class so that they become capable of attending the adult yoga class with their parents doing all the yoga asanas done by adults.

- Yoga asanas from A-Z, for kids learn it better than adults!!
- Talks around life philosophies and nutrition that is easy to understand
Fun Yoga (held on demand)
Who is this for:
- Everyone who loves to have fun with stretching, twisting, bending, twirling on the mat!
What to expect in this class:
- Starts with a Breathing exercise on the mat.
- Followed by asanas for warming up the body
- Followed by a lot of laughter and fun as we work in teams of 2 or more
- Partner Yoga – working with another student (s) in the class
- Group Yoga – working together in a circle as a team
- What You Like Yoga – Acro Yoga, Cartwheels, Headstands or whatever you like!
Yoga Workshop
- Note: We make every class like a workshop after warm-up for our students love learning the intricacies of the asanas. Some classes are devoted to being a workshop.
Who is this for:
- Break down of yoga poses after warm-ups for Everyone. All ages are welcome. No experience required.
What to expect in this class:
- Each class is different based on the needs of the attending students
- Each yoga asana is explained in great detail to the new students, as the asanas are demonstrated
- Each student gets the time as their pose is corrected and questions are answered
- The class starts with a breathing exercise
- Followed by stretching, strengthening and balancing exercises on the mat and against the wall
- Followed by blissful shavasana, peaceful chanting, laughter yoga
